DGAVCDecNV Development Dialog with Nvidia
DGDecNV is a decoder/frameserver for AVC, MPEG2, and VC1 streams that runs on the GPU of Nvidia graphics cards that support CUDA video decoding. That means the card must have a VP2 or greater engine. VP1 is not supported! You can check which engine your card has here:
This program requires a license that you can obtain from me by donating $15.00 to become a registered supporter of neuron2.net. You may obtain your license by clicking on the donate button below. Note that you do not need to have a PayPal account; you can pay with a credit card account also. After your payment is verified, I will contact you by email to send you a login to the license generator.
Your activation is tied to your first active network adapter. So if you replace that, you will need to add a new entry to your license file. This supports cases where you use multiple machines, or you switch network adapters on/off. You will receive a login to an online license generator that will allow you to generate the license entries that you need.
Your activation includes all future versions of the program at no cost. Also, please note that only one donation is required to enable all of my licensed tools. You don't need to make multiple donations.
For support I encourage you to use this Doom9 thread rather than email, so that others may benefit:
Please
be aware that until the system is automated I can process activations only twice a day,
in the morning and evening, so be patient if your activation seems delayed.
Build 2024 is the recommended version and all previous versions are now deprecated. This version added multiple file open support, program stream support for MPEG2, pulldown support for AVC/MPEG2/VC1, GPU cropping/resizing, and several important bug fixes. Notably, when used with the specified Nvidia driver, some issues with the PureVideo deinterlacer are resolved. Read the enclosed Readme.txt file for important usage information.
Important Note Build 2015 and beyond required users to regenerate their licenses. You need to do this only once when you first move to a revision greater than or equal to 2015. Subsequent upgrades will not require license regeneration. If you are an early adopter of DGDecNV you may not be aware of the license generator and may not have a login for using it. To obtain a login, please send me an email. To prove your registered status, either a) send the email from the same email address that you originally registered from, or b) send your original PayPal transaction ID.
Here are the CUVID Server and a sample client application that works with the server (both with source code). Also included is a document describing how to interface programmatically to the CUVID Server.

If you are an expert in AVC encoding and transport, you may be interested in my tool VBVChecker. Your license for DGDecNV will enable it. In fact it doesn't require an Nvidia card at all, so feel free get a license if you want this but don't have an Nvidia card. A similar tool from Elecard costs $350! Put your license file in the same directory as VBVChecker.exe.
